The project presents an opportunity for the Los Angeles Community College District and West Los Angeles College to utilize the proven industry experience of FTR.
The Watson Center will be a three-story building which will house Communication, Entertainment, and Media Arts (CEMA), Graphic Arts, Hollywood Cinema Production Resources (HCPR), and Theatre departments. This facility will feature a proscenium theater, sound stage, radio studio, classrooms, labs, and faculty offices. The Watson Center features an architecturally innovative indoor /outdoor central lobby area that showcases a 29ft x 14ft LED marquee/screen that is visible from both inside and outside the facility. This architectural feature will broadcast theatre performances, unveil film screenings, and display vital information about events to visitors.
