  • FTR receives Official LEED Gold Certificate for POLA Project

    FTR International Inc. is proud to have received the official LEED GOLD Certificate from the United States Green Building Council for the $47 million Port of Los Angeles Police Headquarters project.

    This signature facility adds to FTR’s growing portfolio of LEED projects and underscores our current ENR Magazine (ENR) ranking as the Number 5 Green Builder in Southern California.

    Additional sustainable projects currently underway include multi-million dollar LEED Silver, Gold, and multiple Platinum facilities for public agencies throughout Southern California.

    FTR is the apparent low-bidder of the LAX Elevators, Escalators, and Moving Walks System Upgrades project

    FTR International Inc. was the apparent low-bidder of the Elevators, Escalators, and Moving Walks System Upgrades project, which will modify existing building structures, escalator control rooms, and elevator equipment rooms to accommodate replacement of the elevators, escalators, and moving walks in the terminal buildings.

    City of Irvine Infrastructure Project Awarded To FTR International Inc.

    The City of Irvine announced recently the contract award of an engineering and infrastructure project to FTR International Inc. The project includes the widening and expansion of Jamboree and Interstate 5 Freeway at the City of Irvine area. The project will improve traffic flow by providing four through lanes in each direction and will facilitate improved access to the north and south bound I-5. The successful delivery of such a prominent project will add to the firm’s expanding expertise in infrastructure.

    FTR Awarded Another Contract for the “Adams Street Bridge” Infrastructure Project

    The recent contract awarded to FTR International Inc. to perform general contracting services is for the construction of a Adams Street Bridge, a four lane linear bridge including all other street improvements for the City of La Quinta.

    The “Adams Street Bridge” is located over the Coachella Valley water channel and is composed of a four span post-tensioned concrete structure over cast-in-place concrete piles.

    FTR International Inc. Named Lowest Bidder on City of Wilmington’s Drain Channel Improvements Project

    FTR was recently declared as the apparent lowest bidder for the City of Wilmington’s Drain Channel Improvements in the County of Los Angeles. For the 25 acre project, FTR scope of work includes the construction of a new recreational park, the removal of construction sediment in the channel, reconstruction of landscape for the rehabilitation of local vegetation.

    FTR is the lowest responsive responsible bidder for the construction at the Los Angeles Union Station Platform 7

    FTR was the lowest responsive responsible bidder for the upcoming construction at the Los Angeles Union Station Platform 7.

    FTR International Inc. was announced the lowest bidder for the upcoming project at Los Angeles Union Station Platform 7. The project consists of the removal of existing platform/ramp structures and the construction of a complete passenger terminal including below ground walkways tying into an existing passenger tunnel; along with the construction of passenger tracks 13, 14, and 15.

    FTR is looking forward to the opportunity of working with the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) within the Los Angeles Union Station – a major hub of Los Angeles’ Metrolink’s operations.

    FTR and Signal Hill dignitaries celebrate the start of the City’s new Police Station

    Construction began this month on one of the largest, most significant, and highly anticipated Public Works projects to commence in the city of Signal Hill. FTR International Inc. is the general contractor to build the new sustainable Police Station that is anticipated to achieve LEED Silver Certification upon completion. The facility will accommodate areas for the investigation division, administrative offices, and will include detention cells and a storage facility. Also included will be an Emergency Operations Center equipped with high-tech workstations and support divisions.

    FTR International Inc. proudly joined numerous dignitaries, public officials, and members of the community from the City of Signal Hill, including Mayor Edward Wilson and Police Chief Tom Sonoff to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Police Station and Emergency Operations Center in Signal Hill California.

    The police station is expected to be completed in late 2011 and at that time, the City of Signal Hill Police Department and FTR will be both anticipating to see the result of all the hard work, the unique, functional and modern quality-of-life facility that the entire community can be proud of.

    This new police station will add to FTR’s industry-leading police and security facility portfolio, including the 2009 award-winning and LEED Gold Certified Hollenbeck Police Station in Los Angeles.

    FTR Awarded Contract for New Signal Hill Police Station and Emergency Operations Center Project

    FTR has been awarded contract for the new Police Station and Emergency Operations Center project with the City of Signal Hill. From a pool of twelve pre-qualified bidders, FTR’s winning bid is another exceptional opportunity to add to the firm’s growing portfolio of award-winning police and security facilities. Recent projects include the Hollenbeck Community Police Station for the City of Los Angeles, the Security Command and Control Center for the Port of Long Beach, and the Police Headquarters for the Port of Los Angeles.

    The new Police Station is intended to achieve a minimum of LEED Certification and will include a jail, police records archives, an investigation division, administrative offices, and an adjacent property storage building. The Emergency Operations Center, (EOC) will accommodate additional police staff and administrative personnel with access to new computer workstations and support facilities.

    Police Chief Tom Sonoff has worked diligently with Los Angeles based architectural firm WMM Associates to ensure that this facility is designed to meet the increasing needs of the Signal Hill Police Department. FTR looks forward to the opportunity to assist the City of Signal Hill with the new construction of this much anticipated Police Station and Emergency Operations Center.

    FTR Continues to Support Annual Fundraiser for Local Chapter Of 100 Black Men At 2010 Gala Dinner

    FTR International Inc. is a proud sponsor of the 100 Black Men of Los Angeles 2010 Gala Dinner hosted by Chris Schauble of NBC4 News and Oscar Award Winning Actor Jamie Foxx. FTR has sponsored the local Los Angeles chapter of 100 Black Men for several years and shares in the organizations’ advocacy of community development.

    The event will be held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on October 15, 2010 to honor outstanding individuals who have substantially contributed to the advancement and improved quality of life for blacks and other minorities in local communities. These accomplishments are congruent to the 100 Black Men organization’s mission statement to provide enhanced educational and economic opportunities in local communities.

    This year’s honorees include Bishop Charles E. Blake, Presiding Bishop of the Church of God In Christ; Oprah Winfrey, Entrepreneur/Producer; Virgil Roberts, Attorney; the Honorable Diane E. Watson, 33rd Congressional District of California; Vanessa Bell Calloway, Actress/Producer; and Bryan K. Reed, Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo.
